Fun with UC Clermont Professors and Staff.
I had the honor of leading an AI session with the team. We had fun with some live demos. The team asked for a letter to give to students when they use ChatGPT but written in Shakespeare.
The prompt: write a brief letter to a student using chatgpt to do their homework in the style of Shakespeare.
To thee, diligent scholar of this modern age,
Hark! I hear of thy use of ChatGPT, the digital sage. While this tool of vast knowledge doth shine so bright, Lean not solely upon it, lest thou lose insight.
For the journey of learning is a path to be trod, Not simply a quest for answers, however broad. To consult with this oracle may be wise and fair, But to rely on it solely will leave thee unaware.
Dive deep into books, let thine own thoughts unfurl, For therein lies the true essence of learning’s swirl. This tool, while wondrous, is but a guide on the side, Thy own intellect and efforts must never subside.
So, use it with care, with discretion and measure, And continue thy quest for intellectual treasure. For while Shakespeare’s tongue in bytes doth dwell, ‘Tis thy own understanding that will serve thee well.
Yours in the spirit of learning, [Your Name]
We all had a great laugh at the response. So fun!

White House Executive Order on the Safe, Secure, and Trustworthy Development and Use of Artificial Intelligence:
On October 30, 2023, President Biden issued an executive order to promote the safe, secure, and trustworthy development and use of artificial intelligence (AI). The order includes the following rules:
AI companies must conduct safety tests and share the results with the federal government.
A new set of standards establishes AI industry norms.
Government agencies face strict oversight of their use of AI.
The order is meant to ensure that AI is trustworthy and helpful, rather than deceptive and destructive. It also seeks to steer how AI is developed so that companies can profit without putting public safety in jeopardy.
The order includes the following:
The Commerce Department will "develop guidance for content authentication and watermarking" for labeling items that are generated by AI.
Policies, institutions, and other mechanisms to test, understand, and mitigate risks from AI systems before they are put to use.
Robust, reliable, repeatable, and standardized evaluations of AI systems.
The order will likely need to be augmented by congressional action. https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefing-room/presidential-actions/2023/10/30/executive-order-on-the-safe-secure-and-trustworthy-development-and-use-of-artificial-intelligence/
