I feel like every day I am saying out loud “this is crazy” when playing with AI.

I took my last week’s enewsletter post on “Stop Viewing AI as a Cost: It’s your newest team member” and used Notebook LM from Google to turn it into an audio file. You can also load files and ask questions to the files with Notebook LM.

Oprah special on AI and the Future

My rough notes:

Sam meets with government every two days.

What does it mean to be human- forgetfulness, to be loved, relationships, and divine.

Marques Brownlee: What has changed in the last year? Video, photos and voice have improved greatly.

Concerns: Seen this before with the internet, cars, elevators. In the beginning it is scary and today it feels normal to use these things.

Tristan Harris and Aza Raskin AI Dilemma addiction, polarization, doom scrolling, risks and concerns of AI. I watched it this weekend as well. These are the same guys that produced Social Dilemma. What did we miss with social and internet to apply now with AI?

Bill Gates-speed of innovation, help with navigating healthcare, transcribe your appointments, innovation of healthcare and education. Personalized learning and tutor, help teachers do personal engagement meet students where they are and work won’t be as important. (tell me more Bill)

What skills will be important in this AI world? creativity, social work, more human engaged with each other, mental health, and education. Bill Gates has significant concerns that AI is moving faster than we expected, change how taxes are done, workforce and it is all impacted.

Learning languages that the AI wasn’t taught and don’t know how it learned that.

Marilynne Robinson novelist: Manhattan Project human experiments were deep secret and scientific threshold, no going back from nuclear, where is AI leading us as humans.

Discipline of doing the work and process of doing work will all change. AI is used for research for drugs and library of knowledge, and will replace of work that is drudgery.

I am also enjoying the What’s Next The Future with Bill Gates on Netflix. Yes, I am deep in the weeds on AI learning and research. This is important work.
