Skills Outlook
Top Skills in Demand:
Analytical thinking, resilience, flexibility, and agility are essential for employers.
Technology-related skills such as AI, big data, cybersecurity, and technological literacy are the fastest-growing.
Emerging skills include environmental stewardship and creative thinking.
Reskilling and Upskilling:
By 2030, 59% of the global workforce will require training. (As leaders, we need to make time for our teams to learn and be intentional about teams receiving upskilling opportunities. I have heard this over and over from teams. They want to learn but are not allowed to do it during the work week and the company doesn’t provide a training plan. Consider an ongoing microlearning plan for your teams. I can’t stress this enough.)
Employers plan to upskill existing employees (29%), redeploy staff (19%), but 11% risk unemployment due to a lack of reskilling.
Challenges and Opportunities:
Skill gaps are the biggest barriers to transformation, with 63% of employers citing this issue.
Key Highlight:
-Net Job Growth: 170M jobs created vs. 92M displaced – a net growth of 78M roles globally.
